Standing around waiting to make another pass on the Double.
The Burn Out pictures were taken from the tower steps at Irwindale Raceway in California, in early 1970.  The story is when I first pulled into the pit area I would raise the hood on my truck and set the idle speed up, when my wife would first see the smoke she would take her foot off the brake and let the truck move forward, when she heard the motor on the bike go back to idle she put the brake  on.  The spectators thought I was pushing the truck.  The three pictures are of the same burn out, starting from top left to bottom right.  This burn out is with a four inch Avon Drag Slick, the only tire we could get at the time.  The bike making the burn out  became the First 8 Second Bike in 1971.
